Remote Postal Clerk — AI Research & Domain Evaluation

Join ZR Talent Group's remote specialist network as a Remote Postal Clerk — AI Research & Domain Evaluation earning $30 - $45/hour. Working asynchronously from anywhere in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, or South Africa, you will apply your practical background in Postage, Shipping, Customs to benchmark frontier artificial intelligence models, identify failure modes, and elevate domain-specific accuracy.

Prior experience building machine learning systems is not required—our research partners value authentic practitioner judgment, domain rigor, and clear analytical writing.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

• Review sample postal questions and flag any that don’t sound like what real customers ask.
• Write rubrics that define a correct, complete answer on mail classes, shipping options, postage, fees, and shipping labels.
• Cover package tracking, missing or damaged mail, change of address and mail forwarding, and international mailing and customs forms in your rubrics.
• Assess and benchmark model-generated answers against your rubrics, flagging errors, omissions, and outdated guidance.
• Share clear written feedback with the project team, working asynchronously.

Required Qualifications & Technical Criteria

• Current, former, or retired USPS frontline experience (postal clerk, sales and service associate, or retail associate)
• 1+ years helping customers in person at a post office counter
• Working knowledge of mail classes, shipping options, postage, tracking, and change of address
• US-based
• Able to start quickly and commit 15-25 hours/week
• Clear, precise writing
• Not a fit: Mail carrier, mail processing, or private shipping store experience alone

Preferred Experience & Bonus Attributes

• Practical background using international mail and customs documentation
• Experience handling missing or damaged mail claims
• Experience creating guides, FAQs, or training materials
• Experience helping a diverse range of customers, including rural and non-English-speaking communities

Compensation, Remote Eligibility & Schedule

• Compensation Band: $30 - $45/hour
