ZR Talent Group has an active remote opening for a Remote Retail Operations & Merchandising Strategy Specialist — AI Research & Domain Evaluation ($40 - $70/hour). This flexible work-from-home role pairs experienced practitioners in Retail with leading machine learning laboratories to author high-difficulty prompts, verify factual and technical rigor, and refine multi-step reasoning outputs.

Prior experience building machine learning systems is not required—our research partners value authentic practitioner judgment, domain rigor, and clear analytical writing.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

• Review, analyze, and provide feedback on simulated retail scenarios and operational workflows to ensure authenticity and accuracy.
• Contribute insights on best practices, industry standards, and compliance requirements across retail trade subdomains.
• Create, evaluate, and refine written content related to retail operations, sales processes, and customer service interactions.
• Assess and validate the logical consistency of retail problem-solving methods and decision-making processes.
• Participate in structured discussions to clarify terminology, operational nuances, and context-specific challenges within the retail environment.
• Deliver actionable recommendations for improving AI outputs based on real-world retail expertise.
• Collaborate remotely using strong written and verbal communication skills to ensure clear, effective knowledge transfer.

Required Qualifications & Technical Criteria

• Demonstrated professional or advanced academic background in Retail.
• Strong analytical writing and critical evaluation skills in English.
• Self-directed work ethic suited for an asynchronous, 100% remote research environment.

Preferred Experience & Bonus Attributes

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in retail trade, operations, or relevant subdomains (e.g., pharmacy operations, retail supervision, general management, private investigation in retail).
• Demonstrated ability to articulate complex operational processes and scenarios clearly in both written and verbal formats.
• Demonstrated history of implementing or advising on retail best practices and compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in reviewing and validating workflows, procedures, and case studies.
• Experience working collaboratively in remote or distributed engagements.
• Working knowledge of technology-driven solutions or platforms used in retail is a plus.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to high-quality, real-world accuracy in all deliverables.
