Role Overview & Full Requirements
Join ZR Talent Group's remote specialist network as a Remote PhD Wet Lab & Computational Biology Research Advisor — AI Research & Domain Evaluation earning $45 - $90/hour. Working asynchronously from anywhere in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, or South Africa, you will apply your practical background in computational chemistry, molecular simulations, python, gaussian to benchmark frontier artificial intelligence models, identify failure modes, and elevate domain-specific accuracy.
Prior experience building machine learning systems is not required—our research partners value authentic practitioner judgment, domain rigor, and clear analytical writing.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
- Author rigorous, graduate-level scientific problems in the life sciences, accompanied by step-by-step, verifiable reference solutions.
- Critique and score model-generated responses for scientific accuracy, rigor, and depth of reasoning, flagging nuanced domain errors that generalist reviewers overlook.
- Construct comprehensive grading rubrics and gold-standard solutions anchored in primary literature and established experimental and computational methodology..
- Bring specialized practitioner knowledge across genomics, transcriptomics and single-cell/spatial omics, epigenomics, proteomics and metabolomics, microbiome and metagenomics, structural biology, drug discovery, systems biology, and clinical/translational research. to calibrate model accuracy.
- Integrate practical and analytical viewpoints to assess whether a proposed experiment, analysis pipeline, or interpretation is scientifically sound..
- Supply detailed, transparent written explanations of your reasoning so other experts can follow and validate it.
- Maintain high calibration standards through collaborative peer review and iterative rubric refinement.
Required Qualifications & Technical Criteria
- Earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Genomics, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Immunology, Neuroscience, Microbiology, or a closely related life science field.
- Practical laboratory or applied research background in an academic, institutional, or industry research laboratory.
- Fluent written and verbal English communication (C1 or higher).
Preferred Experience & Bonus Attributes
- Wet lab experience: you have personally performed experiments (e.g., PCR/qPCR, cell culture, sequencing library prep, Western blot, protein purification, LC-MS sample prep, CRISPR workflows).
- Academic research experience: postdoctoral position, staff scientist, research faculty, or equivalent.
- Peer-reviewed publications, ideally as first or corresponding author.
- PhD from a top research university (US, UK, or other leading institutions).
