Remote Backend Security Engineer — AI Research & Domain Evaluation

We are seeking a detail-oriented Remote Backend Security Engineer — AI Research & Domain Evaluation ($30 - $100/hour, 100% remote) to join ZR Talent Group. Contributors in this role draw upon real-world mastery of Python3, JAVA, Rust, Algorithms to evaluate AI-generated deliverables, construct detailed grading rubrics, and guide post-training model alignment.

Prior experience building machine learning systems is not required—our research partners value authentic practitioner judgment, domain rigor, and clear analytical writing.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

• Author, review, and calibrate domain-specific prompts and benchmark tasks across Python3, JAVA, Rust, Algorithms.
• Evaluate AI model responses for factual precision, domain compliance, and step-by-step reasoning quality.
• Develop clear scoring rubrics and gold-standard reference answers for complex edge cases.
• Document systematic reasoning errors and provide actionable feedback to machine learning research leads.

Required Qualifications & Technical Criteria

• Strong backend experience in Java, Node.js, Go, Rust, Typescript, Python, C++ or similar
• A track record building scalable services and APIs
• Comfort with debugging, performance work and automated testing
• Solid code review instincts
• A cybersecurity or SecOps background is a big plus — secure coding, appsec, pentesting, vulnerability assessment, OWASP/CWE, or security-focused reviews.

Preferred Experience & Bonus Attributes

• Proven experience in backend development, with a track record of delivering high-quality and performant projects.
• Background in cybersecurity, such as penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, or security code reviews.
• Demonstrated success in identifying and resolving software bugs and system bottlenecks.
• Practical background using codebase refactoring and implementing complex features in large-scale applications.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and foundational computer science concepts.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.

• Compensation is output-based; experts are paid per task that meets the project specifications. The time required to complete work may vary depending on the expert’s experience and workflow. Minimum submission requirements apply. Experts must submit a minimum of tasks per week.
